Bluebirds’ Buddy Flett is one of THE featured Blues artists on the new DVD/CD “10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads” starring Kenny Wayne Shepherd, B B King, the late Gatemouth Brown, and blues veterans of Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters bands. Buddy and Kenny were filmed playing acoustic guitars at Lead Belly’s grave near Mooringsport, Louisiana, performing “Honky Tonk” from the Bluebirds’ Swamp Stomp CD. “10 Days Out” has aired on PBS tv and is available from Reprise/Warner Bros. The Bluebirds will be appearing at the 2007 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival April 28 and 29, and Beale Street Music Festival May 4&5 in Memphis. Other Festival dates upcoming include Riverfest in Little Rock May 26, Mudbug Madness May 27, Waterfront Blues Fest (Portland, OR) July 7, In the past 18 months, they have Headlined or co-Headlined Festivals including Texas Blues Festival in Tyler, TX, “Party in the Pines” Festival in Longview, TX, T-Bone Walker Blues Festival in Linden, TX and the Folklife Festival in Natchitoches, LA.

Other Festival performances over the years have included Helena’s Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival, Memphis In May, Eureka Springs Blues Festival, and more.

The Bluebirds lineup is Buddy Flett on guitars and vocals, Bruce Flett on bass and vocals, and Cody Lowery on drums. Buddy’s guitar playing, especially on slide guitar, has been hailed in Guitar Player, Downbeat, Billboard, Vintage Guitar and all major Blues Publications. New Orleans’ Gambit stated in 2003: “Flett’s six-string work sounds like the missing Louisiana link between Elmore James and Muddy Waters”. Buddy has just recorded his first Solo album “Mississippi Sea”, which will include six of this latest compositions. It is mostly acoustic original blues and will be released in Spring 2007.

The Bluebirds released “Highway 80 East” in 2003 and it received unanimous good to great reviews internationally. “Highway 80 East” has been aired on over 350 stations and in over 100 countries! Several songs from these albums are in rotation on XM Satellite blues channels as well DMX and Music Choice cable radio blues channels and DIrecTV Blues Channel. It was also featured on House of Blues Radio Hour. Swamp Stomp and South From Memphis were their first two CDs released, on Icehouse Records of Memphis. Also, the Bluebirds hold the distinction of being the first band to have played inside the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY (in 1999).
