Welcome to The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint!
You've come to the right place. Lemme tell you about our franchise opportunity. When you see The Shed for the first time, everything you ever heard about good ole' barbeque “joints” comes into sharp focus and turns into reality right in front of your eyes. This is IT ! This is Everybody's idea of true Southern Hospitality, Good Times, Great Food and an Outrageous Franchise Opportunity for the right folks. SO STEP RIGHT IN Most “first-timers” look like deer caught in the headlights. It's a virtual “Mardi Gras” for your senses. Tacky Chandeliers, Shed Philosophies, Neon, Music, Great Aromas and Warm Smiles wash over you like fond memories of days gone by.
A FamilyFoodDrinkery. TM
is what this crazy place is. Brad Orrison
graduated from “Ole Miss” in 2000 with
a dream. It started taking shape on some land his
folks owned adjacent to their RV Park. Brad and
sister Brooke, (with their G-Maw's Lowe's credit
card and having to sell Brad's prize record
collection) managed to build a small 300 square
foot “shed” to be used for cooking and
to serve as a take-out window for their barbeque.
In just a few years it has morphed into a 3,800
square foot “wonder” with another few
thousand more feet of outdoor seating and an
unbelievably creative stage for live music. In the
few short years The Shed has been in business they
have taken the BBQ industry by storm.
In
The Shed has become nationally know and has earned multiple awards and recognitions not only for their outstanding food, first class music venue brother Brett has created, but also for Brad and Brooke's business savvy in operating such a extremely fast growing and profitable restaurant. One of the most treasured honor is from the National BBQ News Magazine naming The Shed among the “Best of the Best BBQ Restaurants in America” from 2003 until Today. The Joint and the Crew of The Shed certainly epitomize the 2005 “Spirit of Barbeque- Restaurant of the Year” Award given to them at the National Barbeque Association Convention. And the list goes on…
Some of the Awards & Recognition we're earned include:
“Best Venue of Coast Attitude” The Observer 2004
“Best Barbeque on the Coast” The Observer 2004 – 2008
“Best Pork Sandwich in America” 2001 National BBQ News Magazine
“Tapestry Award, Retail Small Business of the Year” Ms. Business Journal and the Sun Herald 2004
“Award of Excellence” Ms. Business Journal 2007
“Top 10 Business Leaders under Forty” Brooke 2004 then Brad in 2007
“Top 50 Business Women in Mississippi” 2006
“Top Forty Fastest Growing Businesses in Mississippi” 2007….and the list goes on…..
The Shed BBQ Joint Franchise
The Shed franchise program isn’t quite like other franchised food concepts (Thank Goodness!) First and foremost, The Shed’s quality of food and it’s unique atmosphere will not be compromised, although your Shed BBQ and Blues Joint will have an atmosphere unique to you and your local market area. Shed’s will always offer great barbeque, cold beer and live music, served up in a family friendly setting of picnic tables and paper towels. There is always FUN to be had at The Shed for the owners and employees but coupled with the fundamental understanding among all that it is a serious business and many livelihoods depend upon it’s success. It is also SHOW Business! The audience is their customers (aka ShedHeds) and their performers are their staff (aka ShedCrew).
Much time and determination has been spent to develop a “Family” made up of ShedHeds, ShedCrew and Owners (HeadShedHeds) . Life is just too short to be around folks and not have great relationships with them. The Shed values people and this has proven to be a key element in The Shed’s success. A part of the food industry segment known as “fast casual” the fastest growing part of the industry, The Shed refines the description by serving “fine food” in an “extremely casual atmosphere.” The Shed offers so much more than Just a Place to Eat. Folks don’t want to pay more, they want more for what they pay for and that’s exactly what they get a The Shed. ShedHeds order and pay at the counter, get their drinks and go find a place to sit. When the food is ready a runner goes around yelling their name and brings the Oh-so Famous Shed BBQ to their table. Each runner makes sure that the ShedHeds get exactly what they ordered, takes a minute to explain the Shed system and then they are off and running to another table. In 2006, Delta Airlines Sky Magazine’s article “Barbeque Loves Guide to the United States” said it right: “[The Shed ] capsulizes the characteristics of the quintessential cue shack. In South Mississippi the words “great barbeque” equal The Shed in Ocean Springs. You need to see this funky place on a bayou with trees, built with leftover tin and wood.” Now, that’s some description of The Shed isn’t it! You can’t fool the public or your employees. They know good food, good service and a good time. That is “ShedStyle” and teaching “ShedStyle” is the ultimate goal of The Shed Management Team not only for the original Shed but each and every Shed to be.
Location, Reputation, Destination
Once experienced folks take their families and friends just to show it off! Much national recognition has been given to The Shed through the Food Network’s Bama Que, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, The Best of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, The Travel Channel’s Rib Paradise, Southern Living Magazine, Delta Sky Magazine and many more. If you decide to own your own Shed this exposure is golden. New customers will seek it out because of the reputation for food, fun and family- friendly atmosphere – that’s exactly why The Shed is a “FamilyFoodDrinkery.” TM Shed BBQ & Blues Joints TM are best suited located in a laid-back, out of the way, OK with beer sales and outdoor music venue with ample parking for crowds. Although, the HeadShedHeds are open-minded and will take a serious look at your ideas. The Franchise Management Crew will work diligently to help you in all aspects of creating your own Shed, including “dressing up the Joint ShedStyle. The training Crew will personally work hand in hand to help recruit and train the new ShedCrew, from Pitmasters to Runners. You would be taught the entire Shed system from stem to stern. Brad and Brooke have perfected their system by keeping it SIMPLE. This is a tried and true system that works. They work very closely and listen intently to their franchisees. Unlike most cookie cutter franchises you would be encouraged to developed your Shed’s own distinct personality to suit you and your community; but the basics will never be compromised.
The World Loves a Picnic!
So Picnic It Is at The Shed! Included in the Outdoor seating area all Shed’s will have a play area for the kids, a fire pit for cool evenings and warm fires, and a stage for live music. It’s a proven crowd pleaser that sets Sheds completely apart from the ‘norm’. This is also the perfect arena for special events. Special events, festivals, benefits, fund raisers, etc. are a vital part of The Shed’s Outreach to the Community. It takes a strategic plan to “stage” special entertainment events and you would be provided training and guidelines to make your events newsworthy and successful.
GET FED AT THE SHED

Let’s see if your business and personal goals match those of The Shed. Of course there is no ‘crystal ball’ to tell us the future, and you need to find out all you can in order to make an educated business decision and all your questions will be answered honestly to the best of our knowledge.

Here are the simple steps to help us both make good decisions:
First, click on our interactive "Questionnaire" and submit it back to us, or download the Questionnaire and fax or mail it to us. As you can tell from the Questionnaire, we don't ask too many personal questions right away, just the basics. We also included an "Investment" sheet highlighting the investment range required to open THE SHED.
When we receive your Questionnaire, we'll send
you our complete brochure, and if you're
financially qualified,
we'll also send you our
franchise documents for your review. Then, we'll
schedule a time to meet, greet and eat at The Shed!
We'll answer your questions and find out if we have
the makings of a good business deal between us.
We can't say it all in the space of this site alone, but we will welcome you as a fellow ShedHed the first chance we get to feed you, and perhaps feed your dreams, too.
Thanks for your interest in THE SHED BBQ Joint. We'll keep the ribs hot and the beer cold for ya!
